Make a statement at your next meal and serve your guests from this 1.5 liter magnum of our flagship wine, Meritage.
Vibrant aromas of raspberry, savory herbs, and wet stone compliment a rich pallet of clove, red currant, and baked blueberry flavors. This well structured wine will continue to develop complex tertiary components with extended bottle aging.
In large format bottles, wines age more slowly and gracefully than in typical 750ml bottles. As such, magnums make a great addtion to personal collections.

2016 was marked by early frost events and sporadic rain during the red harvest. Bud break was just a week earlier than average but frost events on the 7th and 10th of April resulted in lower than average yields in Chardonnay, Viognier, and Merlot. Despite the frost we had a very nice summer that allowed the low yields in the field to ripen well. Hurricane Matthew provided some challenges with the earlier ripening reds but thanks to a great early season much of the crop was already showing good concentration of flavors. Patience proved again to be wise with the Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc.
Sorting pre and post-destemming, grapes are destemmed, not crushed. Fermentation and maceration will last up to 2 months followed by a gentle pressing. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in barrels. Blending is done in April. Aging 18 months in French oak (45% new oak).
